JACLYN VERZUH MAKES RIOT

Most club teams are in the middle of completing their tryout process for 2015. Jaclyn Verzuh, the exceptional 18 year old from Seattle who represented the U19 team in 2014 and was selected for teamUSA’s U23 squad in 2015, will also play for Riot. She is the youngest player to make Riot in the team’s history, and if you have seen her play, this isn’t a huge surprise. Check out one of her impressive highlights from the Riot scrimmage – she skys a crowd of three veteran players.

JESSI JONES PLAYS PRO ULTIMATE

Last week, Jessi Jones was officially the first woman to be signed to a contract and play in professional ultimate. She played 14 defensive points in the Raleigh Flyers 33-22 win over the Nashville Nightwatch.

Is her contract the beginnings of a shift in women’s representation in professional ultimate? Perhaps, but one cannot deny that her contract is fantastic for the league and the sport as a whole.
